Is this your first time in the area? You’re in for a treat!

WHAT tO KNOW ABOUT the SOU’WESTER aND SEAVIEW, WaSHINGTON

Our wedding events will be held at the Sou’Wester Lodge and at the Long Beach Grange in Seaview, Washington. Astoria, Oregon is about two hours away from the Portland Airport. Seaview, Washington, is about 20 minutes north of Astoria. There are multiple routes from Portland to Seaview, but if you go through Astoria, you will cross a giant scenic bridge in order to reach the Washington peninsula.

WHAT’S A SOU’WESTER?

The Sou’wester is a historic resort featuring renovated vintage travel trailers and buses, along with lodge suites and several beach cabins. Multiple wedding events will be held on the Sou’Wester grounds, and the wedding ceremony and reception are just five minutes away, at the Long Beach Grange.

IS THE SOU’WESTER ISOLATED?

Not at all! The Sou’Wester Lodge is blocks from the beach, but it’s also within easy walking distance of restaurants, grocery stores, and other local spots.

What sightseeing activities are recommended ON THE PENINSULA?

For classic seaside tourism on the Peninsula, continue north to the eclectic beach town of Long Beach for Marsh’s Free Museum and other fun spots. Or, travel even further north to historic Oysterville, established and named in 1854 (don’t miss the giant piles of oyster shells along the side of the road).

WHAT’S ASTORIA LIKE?

Astoria is one of our favorite coastal towns in Oregon. It’s wonderfully historic and gloomy, with plenty of delicious dining, places of cultural interest, and pinball! We recommend the Merry Time Bar, Galactix, and the Blue Scorcher Bakery & Cafe. Portland folks may be delighted to learn that they even have a Broder!
