FAQ

YOU’VE GOT QUESTIONS? WE’VE GOT ANSWERS(MAYBE).

Useful details for all that wedding jazz.

WHAT’s HAppening?

Great question! You can look forward to a Friday barbecue, bus karaoke, and late night cocktail hour at the Sou’Wester. For Saturday: a wedding ceremony, reception, and dance party at the Long Beach Grange! Check out the schedule for more detailed information.

How Do I RSVP?

Digital RSVPs were emailed in July. If you have not received one and would like to be invited, please reach out to Dot or Dan.

IS THERE A DRESS CODE?

The Sou’Wester Lodge and the Long Beach Grange are fun, funky places, and we’re anticipating a weekend of informal good times. There will be a barbecue, karaoke, fire pits, and a dance party! If you’re looking for fashion direction, we recommend wearing something that makes you feel groovy, especially if it has vintage flare.

IS THERE A GIFT REGISTRY?

Obviously, your presence is the best present of all. But if you wish to go above and beyond, you can find our gift registry fund here.

WHAT ABOUT KIDDOS?

Personally, we think kids are great, and that the Sou’wester is a fun place for them! We won’t be taking additional actions to make the wedding especially kid-friendly (there will be alcohol and swears), but there’s nothing inherently anti-child in the programming, and there’s nothing better than some kids tearing it up on the dance floor. Heck, we were children once ourselves! Bring ’em along!

WHAT ABOUT PETS?

The Sou’wester welcomes dogs and cats in their vintage trailers, cabins, and RV/campsites. However, pets are not permitted in the lodge or lodge suites, and there is a pet fee of $30 for the first pet and $15 for each additional pet. See their website for additional guidance.

WHAT’S A SOU’WESTER?*

The Sou’wester Lodge is a historic resort featuring renovated vintage travel trailers, buses, and Airstreams from the 1940s, ’50s, and ’60s, along with lodge suites and several beach cabins. We have blocked off a section of these for two-day rentals for our guests, and multiple wedding events will be occurring on the grounds. Visit the Lodgings page to learn how to join our block of reservations at the Sou’Wester.

*Sou’wester? I hardly know her!”

What should I know about Seaview and the Peninsula?

Seaview, Washington, is about 20 minutes north of Astoria, Oregon. Both locations are great for sightseeing, food, and coastal exploration. Learn more on our Resources page.
